Opening the documentation to install the API

Post by dawnwich » Thu Feb 08, 2018 8:32 pm

Hello,

I am trying to register a forum for this app. When I try to open the documentation on step 2 for installing an API, I get a login screen with a note that "your login credentials will be sent securely." I tried logging in with the topic'it registration, but it keeps going back to the same screen. I don't see a way to request the login credentials. Not sure where to go from here.

Hello dawnwich,

Can you tell us what is the URL of your forum? What is the CMS of your forum (phpBB, Forumotion, other)?

Regarding your issue, you get a login screen when you click on this link?

Your answers will allow me to easily find a solution :D

Hi, my forum URL is at www.braidedwheel.org and it is phpBB. But I haven't been able to register it yet, so I don't think that will prove relevant. When I click on the middle link you show above, I go to https://topicit.net/admin/forum/add

Under API self installation, there are two options. One is "Please see documentation" and the other is "ask for help." When I click on "please see documentation" I go to a login screen. I try logging in with the username and password I just set up, but it keeps showing the same log in screen. It says on top that login credentials will be sent securely, but I don't see how to request credentials if they aren't the same as for the rest of the site.

Hi,

OK I understood your issue :)

The option "API self installation" is not for you because it concerns the other forum softwares (vBulletin, XenForo...). Regarding your forum, there is a Topic'it plugin dedicated to phpBB. You have to download this phpBB plugin and install it on your forum.

You can find the step-by-step tutorial here: https://topicit.net/en/plugins/phpbb#collapseTwo

After that, you can add your forum on Topic'it via this link: https://topicit.net/admin/forum/add
